A statistical look at Michigan State basketball, with a dash of football talk

Your blogger’s dream come true

Goran Suton is on the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated:

Sadly, Mrs. SW says I can’t frame a copy of the magazine and put it up over the fireplace.

P.S. Presumably, this can’t jinx us, as the top eight teams in the country all have a player on the cover.  Either that or you should pick #9 Kansas to win the whole thing in your NCAA Tournament office pool.

    That’s grounds for divorce.

It would look better if they hadn’t photoshopped them all hanging seventeen feet in the air.

And I say it does jinx us. Who is touching the ball? Yeah. I thought so.

I don’t think he’s quite touching the ball, but his hand is closest. He’s the least visible – in fact it’s impossible to tell, if you don’t know who Goran Suton is, what school he represents. I think the rest of them have more to worry about jinx-wise.

Based on conference only efficiency margins for all major conference teams, Kansas, at +.18, looks like the best team in the nation, so I wouldn’t rule them out of the picture entirely as far as a final four run is concerned, despite the fact that we beat them.
