- Update: Conference Check: Comically Premature Edition
TAFKATBTW on MSU: “It’s hard to believe it’s been just 40 days since Michigan State plodded off the floor at Detroit’s Ford Field, having been blasted into a million dispirited pieces by North Carolina in a 98-63 romp. Now look: The Spartans have won nine straight. Note that their excellent offense has been keyed by the fact that they’re perfect monsters of offensive rebounding, getting to more than half their own misses thus far in league play. The monsters-in-chief here have been promising freshman Delvon Roe and grizzled veteran Goran Suton.” - Know Your Enemy: Michigan State Spartans
Crispin and Cream pick MSU to cover the line (5 or 6 points). - Game 17: Michigan at Illinois Preview
Second half of the BTN doubleheader. - Conference Walkthrough

Tempo-free stats in the Wall Street Journal, baby. (Hat tip: UMHoops and Geeks.) - The Dagger Interview: Jon Wilner, Associated Press voter
Interesting discussion of voting philosophy.

witless chumon 14 Jan 2009 at 1:29 pm 1Listening to the Monday Izzo Show. Izzo said the ref who was hurt Saturday appears to have ………………. a stress fracture.
He also answered a question about why we dont’ play ND in basketball with: “If you know the Pope, call him.” He went on to strongly imply that he and Mark Hollis had been trying to put that together and ND had continued to refuse to play us. Izzo said. “We’ll play them anywhere, anytime.”
Robert Palmeron 14 Jan 2009 at 2:42 pm 2The UM hoops blog is not well written
kjon 14 Jan 2009 at 2:55 pm 3How so, Robert? We all tend to make typos, but Dylan does a great job breaking down UM basketball IMO.
Maceo Bastonon 14 Jan 2009 at 4:01 pm 4I agree with kj, writing a blog isn’t easy, and I feel Dylan does a great job. For a poorly written and incredibly poorly formatted blog look at the enlightened spartan.
Seeron 14 Jan 2009 at 4:17 pm 5Maceo, I don’t think that’s fair. I might not like the style of writing all the time either, but it’s sound writing for what it is.
There are far worse blogs as far as formatting, prose, grammar, content etc. are concerned, even within the MSU blogverse.
TMadison25on 14 Jan 2009 at 6:53 pm 6Gray has had his chance… and has basically failed… Give a majority of his minutes to Draymond.
