Saturday Links: More Knee News

Injury News of the Cheerfulness-Inducing Variety
Delvon Roe said after Friday’s practice that doctors have cleared him to do “whatever I want to do.”
. . .
So while Goran Suton’s knee situation is a drag on this team, Roe’s situation is as good as could be expected at this point. He’s practicing more and into the 20s in allowed minutes per game. He hopes to be cleared for 25 to 30 by Big Ten play.
Hope springs eternal. I still don’t see many team that can match-up with a lineup of Lucas, Summers/Allen, Morgan, Roe, and Suton–if we can get them all on the floor together at something near full health.

And while Suton is no Antonio Smith, after five years he understands what we want to do defensively and he rebounds, so the more of him the better.
Both of these developments bring us closer to being able to play Spartan basketball by Big Ten time, now just go to get our wings tougher.
Spartalyticalon 06 Dec 2008 at 1:32 pm 2Agreed – having a healthy Suton and a healthy Roe contributing regularly will beef up this team nicely inside. Now, if we hold our mouths just right, maybe we can get Allen shooting well, and Morgan keeping himself on the floor and effective, and Kalin Lucas taking charge more, and Walton hitting his shots like he did in Orlando, and a partridge in a pear tree in addition to a healthy front court. And while we’re at it, give Herzog an extra 60 pounds.
