Orlando-Related Update: Basketball Edition
Goran Suton is “doubtful” for Sunday afternoon’s game vs. Wichita State.
I’m very interested to see (or maybe just hear) how MSU deals with an opponent who plays at a slow pace and, based on their rebounding stats, appears to be pretty physical. And, to boot, they utilize a zone press. Good thing Tom Izzo had that off day to get the team ready for this one.
Orlando-Related Update: Football Edition
Oregon thumped Oregon State today, making USC the PAC 10 champions and presumably making Ohio State the final BCS at-large team.
This makes MSU a near lock to head to Orlando to play in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day. Despite a loss to Georgia Tech today, the Georgia Bulldogs (9-3, 6-2) are our likely foes. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, right?
Update: Fighting With a Vim has a more complete technical explanation of the bowl situation, with the same conclusion: MSU vs. Georgia in Orlando.

kjon 30 Nov 2008 at 3:05 pm 3Thanks, Dylan. Hadn’t thought of looking for streaming video on-line. It’s working pretty well for me.

Moothekowon 30 Nov 2008 at 4:16 pm 5I stand by my earlier statement. They won – but it was more because their opponent was bad than it was that they played well. I thought that was some pretty boring, uninspired basketball. Was some bright spots — Delvon Roe played hard… Marquise played hard (though his celebrating is obnoxious) – and Summers did some nice things in the second half. Chris Allen continues to be down right dreadful. Shooting isn’t great and he makes awful decision after awful decision.

Just an FYI that conference tickets have gone on sale before the 12/1 date (tonight at midnight). Nothing is available any longer in the lower section for the Kansas game. I picked up a couple of other games as well and could still get in the lower section.
I know 12/1 was a Saturday last year, so I don’t know if they normally go on sale “early” when that date doesn’t fall on a weekend.
