Big Ten Roundup plus . . . Why It’s OK to Really, Really Like Basketball

kj on Apr 14th 2008

In case you’re getting tired of staring at boxes of numbers . . .
I missed this last week: Devin, the winner of our nontraditional bracket contest, is also the proprietor of College Basketball Chronotope, an IU basketball blog. To reward him for his prognosticating acumen (unlike traditional pools, picking all four #1 seeds didn’t [...]

Season Review: Raymar Morgan Edition

kj on Apr 12th 2008

After a freshman season in which he quickly emerged as MSU’s second most effective offensive option, Raymar Morgan came into the 2007-08 season with high expectations. This blogger went so far as to predict he’d be a first-team all-Big Ten pick and declare him a candidate for conference player of the year. As [...]

Season Review: Point Guard Edition

kj on Apr 9th 2008

First, a final rankings update:

MSU just missed the top 10, landing as the top [...]

Living in the past

kj on Apr 5th 2008

Final Four weekend is upon us. And we Spartans have nothing to do but root against Memphis (or do we suck it up and root for them so we can at least say we lost to the national champions?). So let’s take a trip down memory lane.

2007-08 Season in Review

kj on Apr 3rd 2008

Note: We’ll focus mainly on overall team performance today. I hope to do season recaps for all the key returning players over the next few weeks.
Michigan State finishes the year with a record of 27-9. This record can be broken down a couple different ways:

Home: 17-0
Away: 4-6
Neutral: 6-3

Nonconference: 12-1
Conference: 12-6
Postseason: 3-2

Most of those [...]
